Prohibited & Restricted Items
Last updated: 22 June 2026
To keep MobileUza safe and lawful, certain items may not be listed or ordered through the Platform. This policy applies to everyone. Listing a prohibited item may result in the listing being removed and the account being suspended or terminated, and may be reported to the authorities. This list is not exhaustive — if an item is illegal in Kenya, it is prohibited here even if it is not named below.
Anything illegal under Kenyan law is prohibited. When in doubt, do not list it, and contact support first.
Prohibited items (never allowed)
- Illegal drugs, narcotics, and drug paraphernalia.
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives and their parts.
- Counterfeit, pirated or otherwise infringing goods, and items that violate intellectual property rights.
- Stolen goods, or goods with removed or altered serial numbers.
- Recalled, unsafe or hazardous products that are dangerous to health or safety.
- Adult or sexually explicit content and services.
- Human remains, body parts, and protected wildlife or products made from endangered species (such as ivory).
- Hateful, violent or extremist material.
- Malware, hacking tools, and items designed to enable fraud or unauthorised access.
- Personal data or account credentials offered for sale.
- Government documents, IDs, uniforms or anything intended to impersonate an official body.
Restricted items (allowed only if the law is followed)
Some items are legal but regulated. They may only be listed by sellers who hold the required licences and who comply with all applicable Kenyan laws, age restrictions and labelling requirements:
- Alcohol and tobacco products (subject to licensing and age limits).
- Prescription medicines, medical devices and supplements.
- Live animals and pets, where their sale is permitted and welfare and licensing rules are met.
- Agricultural inputs such as certain chemicals, pesticides and fertilisers.
- Items requiring a permit or certification to sell.
Reporting a violation
If you see a listing that breaks this policy, please report it through Contact & Support with the store name and a short description. We review reports and take appropriate action, which may include removing the listing and suspending the account.
This policy supports our Terms & Conditions. By using MobileUza you agree not to deal in any of the items above.
